What does Christadelphian mean?

The name Christadelphian is a combination of two Greek words: Christ and adelphos which together mean "Brethren of Christ" (Col 1:2, Heb 2:11). This term is used in the Bible to define true believers who strive to do the will of God and live in accordance with Christ's teachings (Matt 12:50, 23:8). In order to obtain exemption from military service from the U.S. Government during the Civil War, our group was required to have a name to identify itself. Thus, the name Christadelphian was chosen.
